Collaboration delivers production scale, national reach, and global relevance for Gen-5 platform
OKA Holdings Pty Ltd (“OKA Australia”) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Varley Group, one of Australia’s oldest and most advanced engineering and manufacturing companies, to accelerate the scale-up and commercial production of OKA’s Gen-5 all-terrain vehicle platform
Founded in 1886, Varley Group brings almost 140 years of manufacturing excellence and is recognised as Australia’s most trusted providers of specialised vehicle engineering. With operations strategically located on both the east and west coasts of Australia and a presence in the United States, Varley Group has comprehensive experience across emergency response, defence, mining, health and commercial vehicle sectors. Varley Group combines engineering, design, compliance, manufacturing and national maintenance services to deliver comprehensive support across the full asset lifecycle.
This agreement gives OKA Australia the immediate capacity to move beyond its current small-scale facility and transition to a nationally resourced production model capable of supporting full commercial-scale manufacturing. Backed by Varley Group’s mature infrastructure, a skilled workforce of 1,200 plus people and broad sector expertise, OKA Australia will be able to scale efficiently, reduce lead times to meet growing demand and maintain product integrity at volumes suited to both domestic fleet deployment and international expansion.

Building on Two Iconic Australian Legacies
The Gen-5 OKA continues a 39-year history of rugged Australian engineering, trusted in defence, mining and emergency service applications where reliability, capability and performance in all terrains are essential. Many of the original OKA vehicles built in the 1990s remain in service today, a testament to their durability and design. By aligning with Varley Group’s expertise in specialised vehicle engineering and advanced manufacturing, this partnership brings together two proven legacies and secures a strong future for Australia’s only remaining vehicle marque.
Strategic Fit That Extends Beyond Production
Varley Group’s capability extends well beyond manufacturing capability. Over the past three decades, the company has built significant intellectual property in the design and integration of superstructures that transform light rigid vehicles into fully operational platforms ready for their end applications. This expertise spans a wide range of needs including firefighting, flood protection, defence, humanitarian aid, mining, utility and emergency response.
For OKA Australia, this means it’s Gen-5 vehicle platform can be delivered not only as a modular cab-chassis offering, but also as a complete operational-ready asset tailored precisely to customer requirements. Through this collaboration, OKA vehicles are designed, built and equipped to perform mission-critical functions straight off the production line.
